There are many opportunities for involvement & learning!

Follow our instagram ( @beekcmo ) for updates on free hive visits, inspections and honey harvesting—these are wonderful chances to learn more about beekeeping and get rare hands-on experience. We conduct these at our several apiaries in KCMO, easy to reach, safe and comfortable.

If an in-person visit is desired, we will come out and bring beekeeping tools, suits, equipment and even a (very safe) contained colony of live bees! Attendees/students can see inside the hive, spot the queen and get over any uneasiness by observing these beautiful animals up close. We’ve done school visits all over town for all ages, and gear the talk to whatever subjects the class is covering (pollination, insects in general, even animal navigation). Since we are a small nonprofit our time is limited, so a donation for a visit is always appreciated.
